Як відомо, двічі на рік – в січні та липні - дослідницька група Cybermetics Lab оприлюднює рейтинг Webometrics (ступінь інтеграції ВНЗ в «світову павутину»).

30 липня, на офіційному сайті Webometrics було опубліковано результати чергового - липневого рейтингу 2012 року.

Загалом в рейтингу представлено 20 745 вишів світу.

Украінські ВНЗ значно покращили свої позиції в порівнянні з початком року.

Лідер національного рейтингу університетів III, IV рівнів акредитації «Топ-200 Україна» Національний технічний університет України «Київський політехнічний інститут», очолюючи вітчизняні ВНЗ і в міжнародному рейтингу Webometrics, піднявся ще на 219 позиций (712 місце).

Київський національний університет імені Тараса Шевченка (другий з українських ВНЗ ) - теж поліпшив на декілька сотень свій резултат (972 місце).

Також в першу пятірку серед ВНЗ України входять: Донецький національний технічний університет - 981 місце, Харківський національний університет ім.В.Н.Каразіна - 1469 місце, Національний університет "Львівська політехніка" - 1704 місце
